Event planning. It’s not as easy as it sounds. Who, What, When, and Where are important questions, but the most important is How. That’s where you come in as an event planner. When you plan an event, you have to think about your client and your guests. It’s hard to keep things on track when a situation arises and puts a snag on your event planning process.
The Event Manager Blog gives you 3 Ways To Turn Around An Event Headed for Disaster. I listed some of my own tips below.
- Don’t Rely on Social Media to Promote Your Event: talk with people, and involve your friends (WOM), try other mediums, explore other venues to promote your event (target:women venue:hair salon)
- Don’t Plan the Event the Same Exact Way As Last Year: review last year’s event and look for ways to improve the overall planning process and the event itself
- Stay Organized at ALL TIMES: organization is life and death with event planning, stay organized using binders, calendars, post-it notes, to-do lists, ect.
