Blog Comments Are Important

Blog comments areĀ  important for not only the writer, but their audience. Sure, it gives the writer feedback about his/her topic, and it gives them the opportunity to see your thoughts about the subject or the entry. But, it is just as important for the audience. Writing comments lets the audience see more than one perspective.

Now that I have stated why blog comments are very important, here are some tips of how to write effective comments.

1) Read the Post Carefully

Before commenting on someones thought, make sure you fully understand it.

2) Read Existing Comments

They may have already posted a thought similar to yours. This will allow you to post something different or add on to their thought.

3)Write More

Write more than just two words. If you comment, make sure you state a complete thought. Others want to see your FULL perspective.

4)Clarify Your Thought

I have seen many blog comments that don’t make any sense. Make sure that when you write a comment you clarify your thought or point.

5) Give Evidence

If you are trying to state an opinion about a matter, make sure you give evidence of why you feel that way. People will take your comments more seriously.

6) Short and to the Point

Make sure your comments are short and to the point. If you have to write more than five sentences, use paragraphs. This will make it easier to read.

7) Proofread

ALWAYS proofread! Read it out loud to yourself to make sure it is correct. Making errors in your comments makes them harder to read.

As you can see, there is more to a blog comment. To write an effective blog comment, you need to go through a series of steps. Reading the blog and comments carefully and writing your thoughts clearly with detail will benefit the readers and writers of that blog.
